Royal visit to Shrewsbury facility

Weedon Architects are proud to have acted as design development Architects for the Battlefield Energy Recovery Facility in Shrewsbury, Shropshire which was formally opened by The Princess Royal last week.
The site
has been built with the latest recovery technology to help transform
residents’ residual waste into a resource. The facility processes
90,000 tonnes of non-recyclable household waste from across the county
generating 8MW of low carbon energy, enough to power 10,000 homes via
the National Grid.
The Battlefield project is the second Energy from Waste Facility since 2011 we have delivered with a further two more currently on site.
