Weedon Architects were appointed to undertake Architectural Services on the Millerhill Recycling and Energy Recovery Centre (RERC).
The facility, located in the east of the Scottish capital, processes around 155,000 metric tons of non-recyclable household and commercial waste a year to generate thermal capacity of 50 MW of which over 12MW electricity is fed into the grid – enough to meet the requirements of around 32,000 households. The project was part complete with Steelwork partly erected, however the cladding package was experiencing difficulties on site and HZI required a known team to complete the Architectural detail design. Weedon Architects were therefore appointed to interrogate, develop and deliver the remaining architectural civil packages.Website design: Clevercherry
