Weedon Architects & Twycross Zoo are working together to create world class animal facilities and the exciting new Tiger Habitat is the latest addition.
This state-of-the-art, £multi-million habitat which at 3,000m² is one of the largest purpose built Sumatran tiger habitats in the UK.
The Tiger house consists of a single storey building comprising of a visitor viewing area to a show den which features multiple hot rocks to provide extra comfort and to mimic the warmth of their native Indonesia, and an off show den with associated keeper facilities.
The external enclosures, which have two outdoor pools are split by a glass tunnel viewing area which will provide the WOW that all visitors want to experience with the chance to see both tigers up close like never before, as they walk around and over so you can see these critically endangered beauties from all angles.A further 5 single storey visitor viewing shelters distributed
around the external perimeter fence complete the development.
